In the News: Atlanta Business Chronicle Grants Ironwood the Healthiest Employer Award
On Feb. 18th 2016 at the Cobb Energy Centre, Wellness At Work was celebrated. The Atlanta Business Chronicle (ABC) honored companies in Atlanta that are leading the city when it comes to workplace health by making employee wellness a priority.
Employers were divided into three categories based on size. With right around 50 employees, Ironwood fell into the “small business” category, which included companies with anywhere between 2 and 99 employees. After a unique evaluation process, Ironwood was ranked fifth in their category and is thrilled by this achievement.
The new "wearable movement" has brought health and wellness accountability to a whole new level. These devices are being used to count calories, monitor heart rate, track sleep patterns and more. With technology worn on the body, we can now track and create "big data" on our own personal health and the health of our employees.
Today’s employers are seeking a healthy workforce as they face the ever-growing cost of providing healthcare for their employees. Wearables can be an easy and exciting way to encourage health and wellness in the workplace.
