As a long time supporter of Trinity Community Ministries and The Trinity House in Atlanta, Ironwood was excited to be one of the first to hear about a new fundraising event The Trinity Combine.
Ironwood became the presenting sponsor of the innagural event, created a team of 4 employees to compete and volunteered the day of the extraordinary event.
Will Underwood, Managing Partner at Ironwood, has sat on the board for Trinity Community Ministries for many years. He has been involved with TCM with his family, and as a company, Ironwood has gone to The Trinity House to serve dinner several times and has gotten to know the residents and love the cause.
Ironwood donates 1% of all of its earnings back to the community through the Ironwood Foundation. So, when Will heard about the first annual Trinity Combine, he went to the foundation board for support.
The Ironwood Foundation Board, led by Partner, Francie Mooney, embraced the idea and agreed to be the presenting sponsor of the event.
But, Ironwood didn't stop there!
Employees in Ironwood's Employee Benefits and Property & Casualty practices joined forces and created a team of 4 employee/athletes to compete. The four trained all spring while their co-workers raised the $2,000 needed for the team to register. On Sunday, May 17th, employees and their families came out in their "Teamwork" t shirts to volunteer as judges and cheer on Team Ironwood and all other Trinity Combine Participants at Georgia Tech's George C. Griffin track and field complex.
The event was a huge success as the maximum number of competitors was reached and proceeds raised met the inagural goal of $100,000 raised for homeless veterans and men in Atlanta.
The Ironwood Foundation has agreed to be the sponsor for the 2016 Trinity Combine, so stay tuned for more to come!Watch this video to learn more about Trinity Community Ministries:
