Ironwood Insurance Services, an Atlanta- based insurance and employee benefits consulting and brokerage firm, announces it’s sponsorship of the 2016 Trinity Combine to be held on May 1, 2016 at Georgia Tech.

The Trinity Combine ( was established in 2015 to raise money and awareness for Trinity Community Ministries ("TCM") (, which is a 501(c)(3) rehabilitation center for homeless men in Atlanta.  TCM exists to help homeless men reclaim their lives and return to their families and communities as mentors and leaders.  Many of these men are veterans and they all struggle with some sort of addiction.

Ironwood was honored to be the Gold Sponsor of last year’s inaugural event in which 125 competitors, including former SEC athletes, Special Forces soldiers, CrossFit athletes, local business leaders and 5 of the Trinity House residents, competed and raised over $100,000 for Trinity Community Ministries. When offered the chance to once again serve as Gold Sponsors, Ironwood enthusiastically agreed.

The Trinity Combine is structured like a hybrid between the NFL Combine and a Decathlon with 10 events, including the 400 Meter Run, Football Throw, Pull Ups, 40 Yard Dash, Dips, 500 Meter Row, Vertical Jump, 20 Yard Shuttle Run, Bench Press (175 lbs Men; 75 lbs Women) and the 800 Meter Run. Watch this video on the Trinity Combine website for a recap of the 2015 event.

Sponsoring The Trinity Combine is a perfect fit for Ironwood,” says managing partner, Will Underwood.  “Ironwood was founded on the principle of giving back to the community and the Trinity Combine allows us to not only give financially to a cause we have believed in for many years, but also allows our employees and their families an opportunity to spend the day together volunteering in an exciting environment.”

Repeatedly named one of Atlanta’s Healthiest Employers, it only makes sense that Ironwood would get behind a charitable event that has a fitness component to it. The Trinity Combine encourages working professionals, no matter their level of fitness, to train hard and perform their best in this athletic challenge.

Registration for the 2016 Combine closed earlier this week. Event organizers are excited to have over 160 registered athletes and hope the event will double its money raised in 2015. This year, Ironwood is also “upping” its participation by sponsoring the “Football Throw” event. 2015 recorded results of distances that reached almost 70 yards. The Atlanta Falcon’s and Cheerleaders are expected to be at the event on May 1, 2016, so the football throw will certainly be an event to watch.

So, how can you get involved? Join Ironwood and these other outstanding organizations and become a sponsor or help a team meet their fundraising goals with a donation. There are opportunities to sponsor an event or even a team allowing you and/or your organization to get involved in the Trinity Combine and behind the effort to help empower Atlanta’s homeless and veteran community.

About Trinity Community Ministries: Trinity Community Ministries (501c3) exists to help homeless men reclaim their lives and return to their families and communities as mentors and leaders.  Utilizing its 36-bed transitional housing facility known as “Trinity House-Big Bethel,” Trinity House-Big Bethel has touched the lives of many men, delivering the support and resources required for them to successfully return to their families, their community, and, ultimately, to a better life.  More recently, as the number of veterans who are homeless and struggling with addiction has increased, Trinity Community Ministries launched Trinity Living, a permanent supportive housing program that helps men who have served our country, but now are homeless and find themselves in need of service from others.  For more information see
